Philippine Dragon Boat team wins five gold medals in Florida!

Philippine Dragon Boat Team
Philippine Dragon Boat Team

Congratulations to the Philippine Dragon Boat team that bagged five gold medals!cI'm finally proud to have the Philippines competing in the Dragon Boat contest. I use to dragon boat a long time ago and it was no easy task! Rowing through water in the hot sun was exhausting but at the same time good for the muscles and stamina. It was just surprising that most of the Philippine Dragon Boat team are soldiers. Keep it up guys! =D

World Food Expo 2011 at the SMX
written on @ 8:27 PM ?

Me with Eddie Garcia ( He moved because of the fans coming toward us) =)

Honestly, I was a bit disappointed since I thought the Expo would allow people to have a free taste or samples of their cuisines. Sadly, nothing was for free except for a packet of chips and juices. The Expo had many cuisines from all over the world which include countries like the USA, Singapore and Turkey. Unless you got a loaded pocket, the expo was nothing but just a exhibition to my eyes not to my taste buds. There was a variety of goods as well which had no connection with the food expo but still managed to make its way into the halls of the SMX convention.

However, the food expo did have its positives which included having some of the best chefs in the Philippines showcasing their talent which includes giving lectures and food tips to the exhibitors. I had a few Star hotdogs one of the latest brands from Pure Foods. I waited for one exhibition and this was at the Taste Expo Stage(SMX). This happened at 2pm and the food exhibition was called Ang Sikreto ni Eddie "Manoy" Garcia Revealed' Healthy Recipes with U.S Dried Fruits & Nuts by Chef Jill Sandique and Eddie Garcia.

Yes! Eddie Garcia is a famous Filipino actor who had played in many Filipino action films and comedies. He has been in the business for almost 62 years and still continues to this day. I remember that I use to watch his movie flicks from the movie collection of my dad. It was great! He was funny and did he know how to cook! He was funny, humorous and he knew how to treat his fans. He said he was from Bicol and he asked the crowd if any of them were from Bicol and I raised my hand with a smile. Surprisingly he is from Sorsogon city if my memory serves me right is where my grandmother is from. He posed for pictures and in my opinion he saved the day WOFEX 2011.
