This can relate to any traveller but of course most of my tips are aimed to help Filipinos have fun and have an easy trip around the world. I love to travel! Traveling to me is the best way to learn about different countries and cultures. At first, I wasn't never into traveling since I was born in Dubai. In Dubai, we have a large number of expatriates so learning about other nationalities wasn't really a big deal.
Now learning about a culture through a friend or visitor is a great way to expand your horizon. However, there is something quite different about visiting a new country. It can be best trip or the worst trip of your life if you don't do your homework. I have visited many countries although I will concentrate on Asia for now on this current blog spot. Let me share some of my traveling tips so that you can have an enjoyable time at any country that you plan to visit.

1) Make sure that you have enough income: I understand that we all have to save for the future and for our retirement. However, think about it, it's nor everyday that you visit the "Great Wall of China" or gamble in "Las Vegas. You have to spend a little bit of cash so that you have a vacation to remember. Think about it. What happens if you're old and grey and you visit the "Eiffel Tower" in France? How do you plan to go up the iconic tower if you are on your walking stick. Not trying to be mean but just stating the facts. Use your youth to your advantage!

Tsing Yi, Hong Kong |
2) Before visiting the country learn about their culture/events: Research about the country that you plan to visit. You can never know that there could be a special event going like the "Dubai Shopping Festival" in Dubai. That is a event that you definitely do not want to miss! However, if you don't do research, you could be visiting the country at the wrong time and place. You don't want to visit Dubai when it's Ramadan. Ramadan is where Muslims have to fast from morning till night. During Ramadan, majority of the stores are even closed during the day. It would be a bummer and waste of your vacation time.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia |
3) Be on the lookout for the best deals: Try visiting group buying websites like Cash Cash Pinoy, Group On, Living Social etc. You can definitely save a bunch of money by looking for the cheapest hotels and flights. By visiting this websites, you will save up and certainly have enough spending money for your vacation. There are lot of great deals to Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia etc. You can also watch for the latest promos from airlines such as Cebu Pacific and Air Asia.
4) Take photos and get gifts: Take great photos of the sites that you plan to visit. There is no harm in getting a souvenir home so that you can have something to remember from your trip. I personally collect t-shirts, key chains, photos and mugs. Why? They are lighter and easy to fit in all of my carry-ons.
5) Make friends: If you are single, now is the time to make friends from other countries. You would be surprised on how interesting that person might be. Language barrier? Not to worry, majority of the tourist sites and hotels involve people who speak English. It wouldn't be a problem to us Filipinos since its our second language.
6) Have fun: Most of all, stay loose and have fun! Don't worry about your work back home or anything else. You are on vacation so it's time to blow off some steam and enjoy the fruits of your labor.
Hope my tips help you out! Leave a comment if you have any. I appreciate the feedback. :)

Me with Steve Terada from Amercia's Best Dance Crew Season 3 Winner's QUEST CREW |
Hi! You may call me Stuck in the Philippines because I am literally stuck in the Philippines! I'm just kidding. My name is Kristian. This is my first blog and it first started out as travel blog. But then I started involving my love for the entertainment scene mainly the movies and concerts scene. Once I started blogging, I couldn't stop.
A little bit about myself. I was born and raised in Dubai (U.A.E) until I went to Arizona (U.SA). You could say I love traveling. For the record, I am a Filipino. I just lived and studied abroad. A graduate of Southern New Hampshire University and Maine High School graduate, I feel that life has more to offer. I'm a Business Administration graduate but this is something I feel that I am passionate about. I love to breakdance but I'm not getting any younger. I like traveling but that requires a lot of cash. But I love to explore.
Since I love traveling, I first started this blog as a travel blog and I was bored. Anyway, once I arrived in the Philippines, I decided to stay for awhile and adapt to the Filipino way of life. Trust me! It wasn't easy since I had to adjust from scratch! But everything turned out well.
How I started blogging? It was when a friend suggested that I should blog. My first thought of blogging is that it was a boring job and besides what do I blog about? Voila! That's how my blogging world began and now I'm hooked! Now I mainly blog about events, news, movies, concerts and travel! A lot huh? By the way, I do make some grammar mistakes on my blog but hey nobody is perfect! =)
If you have any ideas, suggestions, please don't hesitate to drop me a line. You may contact me at kristianmarfori at gmail dot com . You may call/text preferably text me at +639166464362. Please state your name, email, contact details and inquiry.
Much love!
